Mrs. Carman Wommack, Principal

Carman brings over 20 years of educational experience to BSISD and has been with Big Spring since 2010/2011. She earned her bachelor of arts and history with an education certificate from the University of Texas of Permian Basin in 1998. She began her teaching career in Odessa, TX, followed by teaching positions in Giddings, Conroe, Athens, San Angelo, and finally Big Spring. She received her masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Carman became an administrator at Moss Elementary in 2017. Her husband, Jim Wommack, is the Director of School Safety & Security for BSISD. They have two daughters. The oldest, Jordan, a 2019 BSHS graduate, graduated from Stephen F. Austin University and is now a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Department at East Texas Baptist. The youngest, Carter, is a student at BSISD.

Mrs. Samantha Hyatt, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Samantha Hyatt was born and raised in Big Spring, graduated in 2001 from BSHS. She continued her higher education at Howard College, achieving her associate degree, then attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin where she received her bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies. In 2008, she began her teaching career with Big Spring ISD. She has taught third grade, fourth grade, and Pre-K. In 2019, she completed her Master of Education in Instructional Leadership at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She started her administrative career with Big Spring ISD in 2020. Samantha is married to Adam Hyatt and they have two wonderful children, Colton and Dylan.
